Our Story
Like many others, our family has been closely impacted by cancer. We have lost some of our dearest loved ones to cancer, and I (Rebecca) faced a breast cancer diagnosis in 2012. This prompted us to make many changes in how we live, eat, and what we apply to our largest organ- our skin! Ultimately, it is one of the main reasons we began our farm. We do our best to raise as much of our meat and produce as possible to control what it’s fed and how it’s grown.
As a licensed Aesthetician, I began researching the ingredients in skin care products. I discovered numerous commonly used ingredients in our daily products are toxic to our health. It became apparent that what we put ON our bodies is just as important as what we put IN them. Turning to our farm again, we quickly realized that the nutrient-rich milk provided daily by our dairy goats was the best place to start curating our skin care products.
Rich in alpha-hydroxy acids and naturally high in saturated and unsaturated fat, goat milk is both exfoliating and moisturizing. It contains high levels of vitamin A, which increases cellular turnover, and Selenium, which can protect cells from damage. Easily absorbed into the skin and packed with nutrients, goat milk can lead to an overall improvement in skin health. Of course, we only want to use safe, quality ingredients with our precious goat milk, so we have chosen 100% natural oils and butters to formulate our goat milk soap.
Organic Coconut Oil- Coconut oil contains many nourishing vitamins and fatty acids that help hydrate and protect the skin. In its saponified form, coconut oil produces our soap’s creamy lather and superb cleansing properties.
Olive Oil- High in antioxidants and naturally antibacterial, olive oil is moisturizing and soothing to the skin. It adds conditioning properties to the soap and balances the cleansing properties of other oils to create a gentle, nourishing bar.
RSPO Certified Palm Oil- Containing vitamin A and two forms of vitamin E, palm oil is another ingredient that has properties promoting skin hydration and renewal. In our soap, saponified palm oil contributes to the bubbly lather and firmness of the bar.
Pure Essential Oils- We only use pure essential oils to scent our products. Synthetic chemicals in fragrances are often petroleum-based, commonly containing phthalates, endocrine disruptors, and carcinogens.
